Round 5 Review.
The fifth round of the 2009 MINI Challenge, delivered by Pizza Capers, was held at the beautiful Phillip Island GP circuit - a venue that is widely regarded by two and four wheel aficionados as one of the best in the world.
The R56 JCW MINI Challenge cars are well suited to this fast, flowing circuit and it gave the drivers a chance to explore the significant straight line speed coupled with the spectacular handling over Lukey Heights.
With some new drivers in the field enjoying their first crack at MINI Challenge, including Scott Manson, Robbie Jones and Motorcycle stunt supremo Robbie Maddison in the Pizza Capers UBER Star car, there was a lot to like about Round Five.
West Aussie Nathan Caratti had a point to prove, Series leader Paul Stokell was being hounded by his team mate Grant Denyer and ROCK powered Scott Bargwanna - and of course Sydney livewire Chris Alajajian was back to take everyone's breath away. It had all the makings of a tremendous weekend of racing, and it lived up to all the expectation!
