Round 4 Review.
The fourth round of the 2009 MINI Challenge - delivered by Pizza Capers - was spectacular to say the very least, and for Chris Alajajian it was definitely more over the top than even he had bargained for!
Alajajian's big roll in turn six on the opening lap of the opening race set the tone for what was at times a nail-biting affair over the wickedly cold but enthralling weekend of competition.
Several drivers made their MINI Challenge debut including John Magro, Andrew Fisher and Tony Bates - each of them making their impact on the event in their own way.
And of course triple Olympic Gold Medal winner James Tomkins did more than put his oars in the water with MINI Challenge, he got downright racy at times!
The DecoRug boys Denyer and Stokell were at it again, whilst Nathan Caratti's sensational Round and Race win was cut short by the news that his car had been deemed by race officials to be outside the rules.
There may be more on that in days ahead.
It was great to see John Modystach, Scott Bargwanna and Grant Sherrin back on track after their massive crashes at Townsville just a few weeks ago and the return for his second round of V8DVS driver Geoff Emery was welcomed by many.
Sandown's a big track, but the John Cooper Works R56 pilots made short work of it and we were treated to some memorable slicing and dicing.
Congratulations to all competitors, and see you at Phillip Island!
