Round 2 Review.
The ambient air temperature was more akin to a National Geographic documentary on Polar Bears, but the second round of the 2009 MINI Challenge at Symmons Plains Raceway certainly warmed the cockles of many hearts in the huge crowd on hand.
Some of the battles between the top five in particular had to be seen to be believed! Between Paul Stokell, Grant Denyer, Scott Bargwanna, Nathan Caratti and Chris Alajajian in particular the wheel-to-wheel, door-to-door squabbles over the point position were memorable.
"How much fun are these cars?" quipped Grant Denyer.
"You can really push these cars and they’ll reward you," admits Sydney young gun Chris Alajajian, "but they can bite you if you don't show them the necessary respect." Alajajian should know, he had not one but two spectacular spins over the course of the weekend!
Round Two of the 2009 MINI Challenge was a rousing success - despite the frosty conditions. Roll on the balmy conditions of Townsville for Round Three...
